MALI MISSION MARCH09: Team warmly greeted by Chief in Village F

Yesterday, the team journeyed slowly toward the villages, again having vehicle & driver issues. Communication has been an issue because of the young interpreter they have been assigned. [Please PRAY.]
On the way, the team stopped to visit Noah. While he was not there at that moment, the team was able to meet the son on whom he depends. Through their conversation with him, they were able to plant seeds for the gospel.
While passing by Village X on the way to Village F, they passed by the hunter who has, on past trips, killed wild boar to feed our teams. Though he was busy with work, he immediately dropped his tools and went along with the team to Village F. Last June, the hunter was very vocal in giving a witness to a neighboring village about the message that was being brought and about his choice to walk on the Jesus Road. [Please PRAISE GOD for the hunter’s faithfulness, and PRAY that he would be used mightily these next few days among all the villages.]
The team was very warmly greeted in Village F, especially by Chief #2, the ‘administrative mayor’ of the village. After the (literacy) missionary greeted him in Yalunkan, he said he never expected to be greeted by a white person in his tribal language. He became very conversational with the team, so much so that they decided to forgo teaching time in order to take advantage of his openness to them. [PRAY that Chief #2's openness will lead him to accept the gospel of Christ.]
The missionary was able to test some of her literacy materials, which proved to be completely successful. [PRAISE GOD for this missionary’s faithful work over many years that will enable Yalunkans to feed themselves directly from God’s Word.]
Today, beginning at 2 pm Texas Time, some of the 90 people who wanted to see the Jesus Film last year, will gather to do just that. They will be taught and be able to discuss the Creation to Christ’s Return story. Then they will hear scriptures pertaining to the story (read by the missionary in their own tribal language) and be able to ask questions and discuss them. They will then be shown the Jesus Film, have opportunity to ask questions, and then consider their own walk on the Jesus Road. [PLEASE PRAY WITHOUT CEASING that the message will be clear, that any strongholds will be broken down, and that many in Village F will be given faith to begin walking on the Jesus Road.]
The team covets and thanks you for your faithful prayers.
