Update from Clint Kelly
June 16, 2008
Clint sends his greetings from the Miskito Coast! Due to his inability to access a computer or internet, we (his parents) are attempting to piece together his life. There are many gaps as we have such limited time speaking with him, but we know he covets your prayers.
When Clint was home for Christmas, he left town four times during that short month visiting friends, relatives and supporters. He is always full of surprises! One morning, he came downstairs announcing that he was flying to Phoenix that day to purchase a school bus at a bus auction. We were both amazed since we had never had an experience at an auction; however he had done his research and had been given pricing guidelines from Palmer Ministries.
He left late (as would not surprise anyone who knows Clint) and arrived in Phoenix, rented a car, and searched for a hotel near the auction. That involved a late night phone call home to help him with an internet search for a cheap hotel.
The next morning, sure enough, he purchased a bus for about ½ the amount authorized. Before the day ended, he had managed to find cash to pay the taxes, get the registration and licensing arranged, and headed for home just before rush hour. Purchasing a sleeping bag at Wal*Mart, he announced the next morning that he had forgotten how cold it got in the desert at night! No matter how concerned parents get, God is at work in this young man’s life.

Mali Mission Trip Wrap Up
June 16, 2008
Brothers and Sisters,
It is humbling to have the honor of greeting our Yalunka friends, new brothers and sisters among them, on behalf of all of you who are faithfully praying for their spiritual and physical prosperity. It must bring pause to them when, no sooner had we left their area, that the rains began to fall - rains we were praying would hold off until we crossed the river, but rain we also prayed would fall on their fields and bring them a full harvest. We left and it rained.
But not until we had traveled through K’ba (where we stayed at the mission house as Alisa reported) and over the treacherous, yet majestic, Bambouk Mountains to spend Thursday night in the house of a One-Story team. The paved road to Bamako began there, and from the rooftop of that house we praised God as thunder roared and lightning flashed over the mountains, and as the rain began pouring down on us. God is always faithful to care for children, sending rain into the area yet allowing us a peaceful and safe journey home..
But during our travel yesterday, we paused to eat lunch in a restaurant where Rita met a man she & another missionary pulled from a wrecked car about 2 years ago. He was badly hurt so they took him to the hospital in this nearby town. Before we had lunch, she shared the creation to Christ story with him and asked if he would like to follow the Jesus Road. He paused for a thoughtful moment and said “Yes”. “Coincidentally”, his brother owned the restaurant in which we were eating (and now knows more about the Jesus Road). So, these two brothers took Rita to meet the local protestant minister who said he can baptize this man on Sunday. SUNDAY, 4PM MALI, 11AM TEXAS TIME. So, we have a new brother in Christ who will testify of his new-found faith through baptism - Praise The Lord!
Our trip on to Bamako this morning provided time for fellowship, reflection, analysis and planning. We agreed that among the highlights of the week was the leadership role Phillip took in presenting the Gospel and the joy he exuded in seeing a man accept Jesus as a result. It was also a blessing to see Pastor Bart on the verge of mobilizing his congregation in K’ba to become more involved evangelism and missions.
Tonight we relaxed and had … pizza! In the middle of West Africa. Somehow, eating pizza with your hands just seems more natural than hand-scooping millet & tiga diga na. (But we found it delicious and praised God for every good gift from HIS hands!) Next step, get Pappa John’s to deliver.
Tomorrow (Saturday) we will finish washing clothes, inventorying our small supply chest here at the mission house, and pack to catch our 10:55PM departure.
We are so grateful for your prayers and concerns for us, for our Yalunka brothers & sisters, and for those souls that have yet to find the Jesus Road. Let us rejoice that God made such a Road and we anticipate the day that we will praise Him with one voice, side-by-side with these that follow Him today in a remote corner of Mali!
Come quickly, Lord Jesus - even now.
Peace & blessings
Keith Arnett

Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for your continued prayers for us. As the week has progressed, the Lord is answering our prayers for wisdom and giving us what we believe to be His perfect plan for beginning to reach the Basque people of Donostia/San Sebastian and the surrounding towns. The team has been praying much on-site for the people and getting some keen insights into their culture and spiritual climate.
Wednesday was spent in the city of Blibao (about an hour east of our base city). There are over a million people in that urban center, and it is a hub of Basque culture and commerce. We got to visit the world-famous Guggenheim Museum of modern art while we were there, and we prayerwalked through the center of the city.
Thursday will take the team to the small Basque town of Hondarribia, about half an hour from our hotel, and we also hope to meet with and hear some noted Basque musicians. Our plans also include a visit with another IMB missionary couple in this city.

Please continue to pray for strategic insight into keys to reaching the Basque people, as well as further contacts with “people of peace” who are open to spiritual conversations.

Mali Team Facing Important Decision
June 10, 2008
Our team in Mali is facing some difficult decisions. The river is rising much faster than expected. The local commandant, a friend of ours, in village “F” has suggested our team leave soon or they will be stuck on the other side of the river until the rainy season ends. This is very disturbing because they have been well received and over 90 people are planning to attend the Bible studies tonight.
Please stop and pray now for God’s intervention, wisdom and direction.
